How To Look Timeless
Navy is a color most women can wear because it’s chic, timeless, and universally flattering. It’s not necessarily as harsh as black so some women actually prefer Navy over black. Over the past year, I have found myself adding more and more Navy to my wardrobe but what exactly does Navy go well with? Here are some ways to look timeless wearing navy and add to your wardrobe if you haven’t already.
Navy is one of those colors that pretty much will go with anything else in your closet. I personally consider Navy a neutral and love wearing it with colors such as white, camel, black, burgundy, and other shades of blue.
The color was first noticed on the Royal Navy in the 1700s and soon became the color for other Navies around the world, including the French who used it in their Breton (stripe) tops. Navy has a feeling of power and authority which could be why it was so popular among the different Navies.
Navy is actually described as powerful, authority, and important. I notice people wearing Navy because it’s such a striking color that most people don’t think to wear.

1. Navy + Black

Navy and black together is such a striking color combination and one of my favorites to wear. These colors together are so chic, classic, and timeless, and anytime I see someone wearing them I think how elegant they look. Dressed up with pants or dressed down with jeans this is a color combination I will be wearing for years to come.
2. Navy + Other Shades Of Blue

Navy is one of those colors that looks great as a monochrome when worn with other shades of Navy or dark blue. This speaks to the versatility of the color plus the elegance it gives. Both of these outfits are so classy and chic with just a hint of white accessorizing but navy being the dominant color. Plus, Navy gives a great slimming effect to both as well.
3. Navy + White

For a beautiful Springtime look, wear Navy with shades of white. It looks not only preppy and classic but a little playful as well. I love the Navy silk slip dress with the white coat on top, such a casual yet timeless look. You could also dress it up a bit more with sandals but I like the sneaker look along with the straw tote for a Sunday afternoon picnic.
4. Navy + Shades of Camel

Navy and camel is an incredibly polished look, especially for Fall. The rich color combination of the two compliments each other so beautifully and elevates the outfit. You could also do lighter shades of the camel as well and they would look just as good.
5. Navy + Light Washed Denim

Navy and lighter denim are a great contrast with each other. I especially love a Navy blazer or sweater with lightweight denim and sneakers. Again, still casual yet elevated with navy on top.
Hopefully, these outfits have shown you how timeless and chic wearing the color navy can be. It’s a great time to add navy to your wardrobe if you haven’t already.
