Favorite Areas to Shop
My personal three favorite areas to shop are Saint Germain-des-Prés, the Marais, and for designer purchases, Rue Saint-Honoré.
SAINT GERMAIN, located on the left bank in the 6th arrondissement, this area boasts lots of chic local boutiques. This area was once the hangout for intellectuals like Hemingway, Fitzgerald, and Picasso. This is my absolute favorite arrondissement in all of Paris. If I am shopping in Saint Germain, here’s where I am going:
Le Bon Marché -Le Grand Epicerie- Sézane, ba&sh Paris, City Pharma, MKT, Officine Générale, and Buly 1803.
THE MARAIS is known for its eclectic array of shopping. I’ve found several
favorite vintage stores here. There are also lots of pop-up shops here, so always
be on the lookout! If I am shopping in the Marais, here’s where I am going:
MERCI, Yvon Lambert Gallery and Bookstore, French Trotters,
BHV (Department Store), Le Village St-Paul Marche, Papier +, and Dépôt Ventre
Deluxe.
The Marais also has a hidden flea market called Village St Paul Marche. There
are dozens of art and antique dealers, where you’re sure to find a treasure or
two to take home.
As of this publication, it’s open Wednesday-Monday from 11-7.
RUE SAINT-HONORÉ, is a street full of Parisian luxury. This is where I go if I want
to buy a designer purchase, however, there are many places in Paris to do this.
Some of the brands located on this famous street are: YSL, Chanel, Chloé, and just
to name a few.
