French Fridays Week 5
French Fridays
I am excited to share a new series with you, French Fridays. This is week 5 where I am sharing everything French that I’ve loved the past week in style, food, beauty, finds, and favorite places in Paris to know.
French Style
Double denim is such a great Parisian look and one I wish more people wore often. I love the color combination here of the denim, brown wool coat, and black mixed together. It’s the perfect combination of the 3 color rule.
An easy chambray shirt, a long brown wool coat that’s easy enough to wear with many other items in your closet. A favorite pair of straight-leg denim and black converse to give it that edgy, Parisian cool girl vibe. Classic leather black bag to bring the whole outfit together, this is a great choice for the weekends.
French Recipe
I’ve mentioned several times how I make a lot of recipes from the book, French Women Don’t Get Fat. The recipes are simple and wholesome, and most require few ingredients.
A few of our favorite meals from the book are pasta with sun-dried tomatoes, and capers for dinner. And, for breakfast a mixture of yogurt with cereal and walnuts that’s incredibly filling.
French Finds
These are more French-inspired finds but tweed jackets are everywhere right now for Fall. Mango has a few reasonably priced ones already and I have this one that I absolutely love. The pearl button detail is so beautiful and the jacket length is perfect.
You could also do this shorter cropped version with gold buttons as well. You can never go wrong with a tweed jacket and there are always stylish. Wear them dressed down with denim and slingbacks or dressed up with a cami, trousers, and a mule.
French Beauty
Every now and then I like to visit the Chanel counter at Nordstrom to see what new colors are highlighted for Fall. I’ve been craving a French girl red lip lately and I love the way Chanel lipstick feels.
I ended up going with this beautiful shade called, ALIVE, it’s a beautiful red that isn’t too overbearing for daily use.
There’s also a new type of blush called, Les Beiges Water-Fresh Blush, which I have in the Intense Coral shade. It provides a beautiful glow to my cheeks and is very lightweight.
Favorite Places In Paris To Know
Café Kitsuné is a coffee shop located in a few locations in Paris but the most well-known is in the Palais Royal. The Café is under the Maison Kitsuné brand, which is a French-Japanese lifestyle brand.
I am sure you’ve seen pictures on Instagram of the famous Café Kitsuné black and white logo on to-go coffee cups. Kitsuné is actually Japanese for the word Fox.
If you’re on your way to the Palais Royal stop here for a coffee to go and walk over to the Palais Royal to get a great picture.
