Long Flight Essentials
Long Flight Essentials
While I love traveling abroad, and visiting far-flung destinations can be fun and exciting, sitting on a plane for extended hours can be exhausting, boring, and uncomfortable. Today, I am sharing some of my favorite long-flight essentials to pack for your next long-haul flight.
Whether you’re traveling to Paris or another destination, these items are sure to help pass the time and make your plane ride more enjoyable. After years of traveling back and forth to Paris, I consistently use these long-flight essentials.
Although I am always on the lookout for the ultimate travel accessory to use, these are the 15 Paris travel essentials I use the most now.
I am also partnering up with four other friends today who are sharing their travel wardrobe favorites, so be sure to visit their blogs at the end of the article.

15 Long Flight Essentials
Tote Insert
No matter what tote bag I carry, I always have a tote insert inside to keep everything nice and organized. It’s surprisingly roomy and can fit most of my essentials. I have a large size, but there are numerous size options.
Refillable Water Bottle
Nowadays, many airports have contactless filling stations where you can refill your water bottle. It’s easier than ever to bring your water bottle instead of paying over $5 for a bottle at the airport.
I always carry a reusable water bottle with me when I travel. There are so many different options out there to help you stay hydrated during a long day of traveling.
Portable Phone Charger
This portable phone charger has saved me many times when traveling, and my phone battery is low. You stick it onto the back of your phone and let it charge. It charges pretty quickly but is a bit heavy.
Eye Mask
This slip eye mask helps me sleep on the plane and in a hotel. It keeps the light out, which is necessary when I fall asleep. I use this one specifically for eyelash extensions.
AIRFLY
My husband bought these for us last year, and they are a game changer for watching in-flight entertainment without the hassle of having a cord plugged in.
This is handy when the person next to you wants to get up, and you must unplug before they can go anywhere.
With the AIRFLY, you can wirelessly transmit the audio via Bluetooth to your headphones or AirPods.
SONY Noise Canceling Headphones
Noise-canceling headphones are necessary to drown out background noise on any plane, especially international flights. I’ve had these Bluetooth headphones for years, and they still work great. Usually, I don’t even put them in their case, I find they are easier to carry without the case.
Caudalíe Face Elixir
My favorite spray when I need a refresher is the Caudalíe Face Elixir. I carry this with me everywhere I go, and it’s nice to use when you land and need a bit of a refresher on your face. It smells lovely and is lightweight but not greasy.
sisley eye contour mask
This eye cream is an investment, but it works wonders after a long flight. I have used it for years and still love it to this day.
It helps to soothe undereye redness and puffiness, which is very helpful after being on a plane for hours.
I put it on when I get on the plane and also before we land to help my eyes not feel jet-lagged. My other favorite eye product to help with puffiness is these eye patches from Klorane.
These go with me anytime I travel, but the Sisley Eye Mask is another option if you don’t want to sit with these on your eyes on the plane.
Hand Sanitizer
Hand sanitizer is definitely a travel essential, especially for a long-haul flight. I like to carry this one and also have some handy wipes as well.
MERSEA Wrap
Whenever I travel, I take this cashmere wrap with me because I tend to get cold, especially on planes. It is a nice blanket, and I know where it came from. Plus, you can wear it on the plane to Paris quickly as it looks like an accessory.
Avène Cicilfate Hand Cream
My tried and true hand cream that helps even the dryest hands. I have numerous sizes of this hand cream, but I always pack a travel size for the plane.
Bioderma Lip Balm
One of my other favorite travel essentials is a good hydrating lip balm. Lips can become very dry during an airline ride, so I try to keep them as hydrated as possible.
This one from Bioderma is my holy grail and one I’ve used forever. I usually try to pack several of them to make sure they are handy. I also love this one from Avène.
Leather Pouch
For years, I have used this Cuyana leather pouch as a carry all when I travel. It holds all my essentials so they don’t get lost in my carry-on bag.
Things like my lip balm, lip stick, cell phone, a pen for writing, wallet, and anything else that could fall to the bottom of the bag.
Toothbrush and Toothpaste
I pack a travel toothbrush and toothpaste whenever I travel on long-haul flights. There’s nothing better than being able to brush your teeth after a long journey. It helps to feel refreshed and ready to land.
My travel toothbrush is this one, and I like to use this toothpaste. I pack them inside of my leather pouch so they are easily accessible. Depending on your airline, some will even give you a travel toothbrush and toothpaste.
Liquid IV
To help stay hydrated, I carry a few packs of Liquid IV with me to help with electrolytes. I usually use one pack when I first get on the plane and one pack right before we land.
