At the start of each new season, I like to put together a graphic of a capsule collection to help me narrow down what pieces I want to wear for the season. I like to make sure I have a good foundation of basics to mix and match with other items. This way when buying new pieces I can sprinkle in some fun pieces that will go with other items in my closet.
Parisians are always among the most timeless and classic examples of wearing pieces over and over and looking chic. I looked to them when putting together this Parisian inspired Spring wardrobe capsule.
A capsule collection can help you with this because these are pieces you can wear year after year. No more wondering what to wear every day and getting frustrated with your closet.
Here are 27 pieces to mix and match and to help with your Parisian-inspired Spring wardrobe. This doesn’t mean you only wear these 27 pieces exclusively either. There are other classic pieces to wear and maybe a trend here or there. However, having pieces narrowed down will help with the selection. I’ve also shared a few ways I would wear the outfits together.
BASIC TEES– You can never have enough basic tees in your closet. I like to update mine in the Springtime.
STRIPE SWEATER– Nothing is more classical French than a striped sweater. Stripes can easily be worn with jeans or pants and layered under a blazer as well. Go for a few stripe sweaters with one black and one navy. You can never go wrong with stripes, it’s a French classic. In Spring you can wear this under a lightweight blazer or jean jacket.
CASHMERE SWEATER– The air is still a bit crisp in the Spring so I like to change over to a light cashmere sweater.
CARDIGAN– A classic cardigan is always a staple and a cream color is easy to wear with jeans and pants.
LIGHT BLAZER A lighter-weight blazer is the perfect addition for Spring to wear over tees. I like to use a cotton or linen one in Spring.
BLACK BLAZER– A black blazer is a must for any season and especially a Parisian-inspired Spring.
SILK DRESS– A beautiful and classic piece you can wear with a blazer, leather jacket, or denim jacket. Dress it up with heels or keep it casual with flats or sneakers.
TRENCH COAT– The classic coat that I wear all Spring long. I recently upgraded to this Sèzane Scott Trench and the fit is just perfect. This trench sells out every year so if you’re thinking about it, grab it now.
WHITE BUTTON DOWN– A classic white button-down always goes a long way with jeans and flats during Spring.
BLUE BUTTON DOWN– Trade out your white button-down for a blue button-down the next day. Wear a different style of jeans and sneakers to change it up.
STRIPE BUTTON DOWN– When you want to dress it up a bit more then you have a stripe button down to wear. This also looks great with white denim.
SILK CAMI– To wear under blazers, wraps, and by themselves for a date night.
SHOP BOTTOMS & ACCESSORIES
CAMEL TROUSERS– Wear these with a cashmere sweater or one of the button-downs. Trousers are very on-trend for Spring yet so classic at the same time.
STRAIGHT-LEG DENIM– Straight-leg denim is highly on-trend this Spring but one of the denim styles Parisians wear all the time.
BLACK FLARES– Perfect to wear with a silk cami and leather jacket for a night out with friends.
SILK SCARF– I love to wear a beautiful silk scarf in the Spring to dress up a plain tee or lightweight sweater. This is the time when I like to use some color in my wardrobe.
BLACK BELT – Everyone needs a classic black belt in their closet.
GOLD HOOPS– My everyday jewelry consists of these gold hoops which I wear almost daily.
BLACK LEATHER BAG- A classic bag is a great staple but you can change it up with a fun shape for Spring.
SLINGBACKS– The perfect slingback that goes with everything.
ANKLE BOOTS– Boots are still a necessity in Spring with jeans or even skirts.
SNEAKERS– Easy sneakers for evening walks.
LOAFERS – Loafers are a great option to slip on and off when you want to dress things up a little. Love the gold buckle detail of these.
